PROJECTS

TITANIC VR

This VR experience from Immersive VR Education Ltd. has been released on Steam and Oculus stores, with the full experience being also released on PlayStation later in the year. It is currently sitting at 81% positive reviews.

My role for this project was to research the infamous ship and her passengers, and write the scripts for both the 1912 animation and the full exploration story-mode game. I also worked with the voice actors, recording and editing the dialogue (alongside Robert O'Connor from WIT), and created the Foley/sound design used in-game. The original BBC recordings that can be heard in-game required restoration before use,

Project administration-wise, I was the main contact for the company's Kickstarter and social media accounts, and wrote most of the updates and press releases for this project.

LOVESICK (EPISODE 1)

I teamed up with Sakura Media and Digital Zombie Studios to create this animation based on the popular school-horror Yandere Simulator game.

I recorded and edited Foley and sound design for this project, before Digital Zombie Studios added his compositions and additional sound effects.

Since being uploaded to YouTube in June 2017, it has reached 1.8 million views, and received praise from the developer of Yandere Simulator himself. Sakura Media has since released the second and third episodes without my involvement, however I will be working with her again on future episodes.

GAME OVER

This animation was a collaboration between students at SAE Creative Institute, Perth Western Australia. Gareth Lockett, Michael Redfern, and Kiara Cramer animated the short, while Robert D'Leno, Jayden Tan and myself took care of the audio.

As students, it was our first 'professional' experience creating Foley and recording dialogue, and composition for animation was a great learning curve.

It was a fun project, and was nominated for 'Best Animation' at the WA Screen Awards in 2015. Thanks go to Jaymie-Rae Sargent (appeared as the gamer), Cameron Leese (voice of Bario), and David Strothard (voice of Doomlord).

DEEP DELIRIUM

This dungeon-crawler adventure game was part of my final student project. Fellow audio student Jarrad Clarke and I joined forces for this project, creating our 'JAC Audio' production label. We teamed up with another student team, 'Solar Studios', to produce this three-level game, along with a behind-the-scenes documentary.

'Solar Studios' consisted of: Kyle Coutts (developer), Bobby Greaney (developer), Sabrina Messina (3D artist), and Mitchell Williamson (3D artist). The story and documentary were scripted and shot by Brittany Skehan (film).

After creating a scope and pitching our plan to facilitators, Jarrad and I were tasked with creating three 5-minute stage scores, recording dialogue and sound effects, as well as recording our own convolution reverb and a score for the documentary.

Over the 26 weeks, we managed to hit all goals, and also fit in a play-testing session at the Perth Games Festival. The final product was well-received at the final showcase with industry professionals, and you can hear the final scores using the Soundcloud link to the right.

DISCORDIANS - CIRCLEMAKERS EP

Perth band 'Discordians' were on call to record a 4 track EP for one of our final year production projects.

Paulo Gonzalez, Christopher Mottram, Damion Wood, and I teamed up to produce this EP and organise the launch event. The recording and event ran unhitched, and Paulo went the extra mile and used his filming experience to create an excellent music video for the title track. The band produce 'accordion infused indie ska' music, and were a joy to work with.

The links to the left are my masters of the recorded tracks.

STRATOSFUNK - 4-PIECE SOUL EP

Robert D'Leno, Jayden Tan and I teamed up again to record Perth soul band Stratosfunk. Normally a 9-piece, they wanted to produce a promotional EP for their much smaller 4-piece ensemble.

We recorded them playing together in the same room, with the vocalist in a separate booth. As a well-rehearsed machine, they were naturally tight and the resulting recording didn't need much work.
